Supported Software List

WIP

This page provides a list of applications that have been approved by Metro IT. Any software that has reached End of Life (EOL), which means it is no longer receiving security updates from the software company, will not be supported. Installation of other software not listed here requires a review and testing by Metro IT. Please open a ticket with Metro IT by emailing metroit@ucdavis.edu to start a conversation.

    • Supported: Available by request, without an Exception Request. Full support available.
    • Standard: Available by default, without an Exception Request. Full support available.
    • Exception: Available by Exception Request ONLY. Best Effort support available.
    • Blocked: NOT permitted for use, and uninstalled if discovered, unless approved through an Exception Request. No support available.
  • BigFix Patching: Indicates if the software receives automatic patching through Aggie Desktop
  • Process Requirement
    • Protection Level Assessment (PLA): Survey filled out by the end-user to classify data in order to determine the potential risk of the Software/Service use. It is based on the UC Protection Level Classification Guide.
    • Vendor Risk Assessment (VRA): Survey filled out by the end-user when a signed SCM/software approval form is required (generally anytime you're purchasing software). A valid PLA ID (retrieved after filling out the PLA) is required to fill out the Exception Request form - otherwise, it will immediately enter the cancelled workflow state and you will need to fill it out again.
    • Exception Request (ExReq): Request submitted by Metro IT, in collaboration with the end-user, in order to install and/or purchase non-standard software for use on University-owned devices. A PLA ID (retrieved after filling out the PLA) is required to fill out the Exception Request form.
    • N/A: No additional process required

NOTE: All approvals below are for P1/P2 data types only. P3/P4 will always need an Exception Request.
